Full Text

January 29. Whatever ideas our own ministers may entertain of the colonies, the French officers taken by Adm. Kempenfelt, and now in town, remarked they had already got Lord Cornwallis, and should certainly have Sir Henry Clinton in the spring; they lament the loss of liberty only as the loss of honor they expected to acquire at the investing of New York, by the united troops of France and America.

Neither Lord Cornwallis or Mr. Arnold have been yet at Court; but they both attended a private cabinet, which was held on Thursday last at Buckingham house.
