FLAG PRESENTATION

Company K of this city are proud of the receipt of a fine flag which was a gift to them from Dr. Von Rupert of Stevens Point, once a Major in the German army but now a whole hearted loyal American. The presentation of this flag was attended with considerable ceremony which occurred on Thursday evening September 12. Co. K was out in uniform attended by the band and special ceremony of Guard and retreat, parade took place on the East Side Market Square. Several members of Co. M of Stevens Point were present and had a part in the ceremony. Capt. Clark Orthman of the Stevens Point Company presented the flag to Company K of this city in the Amusement Hall with appropriate remarks which were very cordially received. Following the ceremony a free dance was given which was largely attended testing the capacity of the Amusement Hall.
