Athens, Sept. 27.-(Correspondence.)-The completion of the Trunk railway to this point will open up a new enterprise here, which will also be of special benefit to your magnificent city. This portion of our county abounds with the very best quality of jug clay, and we are now shipping jugs by the car load to numerous parts of the State, and wherever they have gone they have attracted the attention of dealers by their extra quality.
Waco, realizing the benefits she can secure from our connection by the Texas & St. Louis railway, has just purchased for $75, through Mr. Page S. Eaton, from Mr. T. F. Murchison, one acre of land about three-fourths of a mile from town, from which the clay will be shipped to said city for the purpose of establishing a pottery there.
We are now making paying brick from this clay, and with them are bringing our sidewalks to a condition of beauty and permanency equal to any city I have visited in the State.
