Full Text

MASSACHUSETTS.

BOSTON, October 10.

One day last week, a fishing schooner arrived at Marblehead, which, about 10 days before, on her return from the Banks, shipped a sea, whereby every thing upon deck was carried overboard, together with the skipper, named Gardner, and two other men, who were all lost. The surviving hands consisted only of five lads, the oldest of whom was about 17 years of age; and neither of them had any knowledge of navigation. The day after the accident, they luckily met with a brig, from the Captain of which they received such directions as enabled them to navigate the vessel safely into port.
