MONITORIAL.

The young men, seven in number, who in a row wantonly attacked Mr. Lambert and others, in the streets of New York some time ago, and so caused the death of that respectable gentleman, though they intended nothing more than the pleasure of beating him and a fight, have been sent to the state prison for seven years, three months in solitary confinement and the rest at hard labor.

They were indicted for murder, but convicted of manslaughter.

It appears that they drank seven glasses each, at one grogshop, previous to the rencontre with Mr. Lambert.
