THE LATE MR. RUNDELL. The late Mr. Rundell, who died in England a short time ago, amassed his vast fortune by habits of extreme frugality; he was never married, and never kept an establishment. When he left London, he generally took abode with his niece, a married lady residing at Brompton. Mr. Rundell has left to the children of Mr. Brigge (who was the lapidary of the concern at Ludgate Hill) twenty thousand pounds each. Many years ago he became intimate with the family of Mr. John Bannister, the comedian, and at that excellent performer's residence, in Gower-street, he, to use his own expression, "passed many happy hours." When one of the sons, (an articled clerk to Messrs. Williams & Brooks, of Lincoln's Inn) was out of his time, Mr. Rundell called at the office, and invited him to breakfast on the following day; the young man went, and Mr. R., after putting many interrogatories as to his intended pursuits in life, dismissed him, first putting into his hand a piece of paper, and charging him not to examine it till he got home. It was a Bank of England note for £10,000. Mr. Rundell's will was proved a few weeks since. The stamp for the probate was £15,000, as the personal effects amounted to £1,200,000.
