Murder of Los Angeles Diamond Broker Lacks Confirmation.

Los Angeles, Dec. 31--The confession made yesterday by J. J. Harris, awaiting execution Feb. 6 for the murder of Mrs. Rebecca S., Christian Science practitioner, and Charles Pendell, Los Angeles diamond broker. Pendell was killed last June. In his confession Harris told of his theft of an automobile in which he said he escaped from the scene of the crime. A search of the police records failed to disclose the theft of an automobile under conditions which Harris described.
