Uncle George Tufly, proprietor of the St. Charles Hotel, is making preparation for a six month's snow blockade, and is preparing himself to feed the hungry hoard that will soon be coming in from the east, west, north and south to make new laws and patch up old ones for the dear people of Nevada. From long experience Tufly knows the delicate tastes of these gentlemen and, further, knows they never miss a meal. So to make sure of a full supply in case of a long snow blockade, he has purchased an immense quantity of all the choice provisions, wines, liquors and cigars, and has everything that mankind ever care to eat or drink. Several car loads arrived on Saturday, and yet there is more to come.
Legislators all know Tufly and he knows them--he feeds them like lords; but when they fast for two years and come back here all hollow, they put down a large quantity of these valuable articles; and in exchange he sees that they put up the coin. It is a matter of fact no hotel in Carson has ever laid in so large, extensive and so great a variety of choice provisions as Tufly is laying in this Fall, and as people never have complained of the quality and quantity before, they will not have cause to do so now.
