RENO, Nev., (AP) - A twin-engine plane, one engine conked out by freezing temperatures, crashed and burned today in a residential district. The pilot was killed but his four passengers escaped virtually unhurt.

The plane narrowly missed plowing into a house.

Reserve Army Capt. Clarence Booth of San Lorenzo, Calif., died in the flaming wreckage as he brought his crippled plane down through a driving snowstorm in a futile attempt to reach the Reno airport.
