HASKELL BAND AT GARDNER FAIR

The Haskell Band was one of the entertainment features of the fair held at Gardner, Kans., during the first week of October. The Gardner Gazette had this to say of the organization:

"The fine band from Haskell Institute, Lawrence, Kans., under the direction of Arthur L. Bach, gave a concert in the big tent which was thoroughly enjoyed. This band, composed of Indian students at Haskell Institute, is one of the fine musical organizations of the State. It is a well-balanced band as to instrumentation. The individual playing is excellent and the ensemble worthy of warm praise. The institute may well be proud of this fine band which entertained our community and visitors so agreeably."
