Recognized As First Of
Its Kind In The Nation
RALEIGH, March 28.—(AP)— The State Recreation Commission created by the 1945 General Assembly has been recognized by the Federal Security Agency as the first of its kind in America.
In a letter to Governor Cherry, Mark A. McCloskey, director of Community War Services for FSA, said passage of the recreation bill by North Carolina would "have a healthy reflection all through the rest of the country."
"Many reports have come to me on the fine work your recreation division has been doing for soldiers, war workers and youth in North Carolina," McCloskey said.
