Full Text

The New York Times thinks Tilden's prospects for the Democratic Presidential nomination are slim. It says: "What is called Tilden stock can scarcely be quoted at any price beyond the limits of New York State. We have not the slightest doubt that the west will absolutely control the Democratic nomination in the National Convention, and thus Mr. Tilden is weakest where he ought to be strongest. He may get a delegation from his own state to vote for him, although even that is extremely doubtful—in fact, our opinion would be that the chances are all against it."
