WEATHER IS COLD FOR NAGS

The extreme coldness of the weather yesterday prevented anything in the way of fast workouts at the Interstate track, and the only animals to make the turn of the half mile were not let out at any great speed.

A good bunch of the harness horses were given workouts this morning and showed up in very good form, but the only animals that gave anything like a lively exhibition were Le Roi and Babe Chapman. The former stepped a slow mile around the track and came through the stretch at a 2-minute gait.

Babe worked along with Le Roi.

E. J. Dyer, the owner of Le Roi, has quite a stable now at the grounds and there are others in the bunch said to be nearly as fast as the black.

Dr. Coyne is the owner of Babe Chapman.

Among the runners yesterday there was little doing. Dr. Sherman and Clauditor, owned by Nat White, were the only ones worked, but were not let out faster than a slow gallop.
