The Atlanta Medical Association held its regular monthly meeting in the beautiful lounge of the new Wahajaje hotel with Charles, Wilson, director of the Hughes Spalding Pavilion Hospital, as guest speaker. Dr. Jackson, a physician at the hospital, was a guest.
The guest of honor for the occasion was little Gladys Knight, recent winner of the coveted 1952 National Radio Championship award, who was given a war bond by the medical association and its auxiliary. Before the presentation was made by Mrs. Lottie B. Harris, the auxiliary's president. Dr. H. Ward Warner, secretary of the AMA gave a brief history of the family life and achievements of Gladys at which time it was divulged that her mother and father were also musically inclined, having been members of the well-known Chariot Wheels Choir—and now sing in the choir of Mt. Moriah Church.
Gladys was accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Merald Knight, and a friend, Mrs. Ingram.
