CONFERENCE AT LAKEWOOD.

The President-Elect Has a Conference with Gresham and Carlisle.

LAKEWOOD, N. J., Feb. 25.-Hon. J. G. Carlisle arrived from Washington today. He was met at the station by Mrs. Cleveland and driven to the cottage, where he found the president-elect and Judge Gresham awaiting him. A conference was held, which lasted until 3 o'clock. Then Judge Gresham was driven to the station by Mrs. Cleveland, and Mr. Cleveland and Carlisle went out for a walk. Judge Gresham declined to talk about the object of his visit and said he would return at once to Chicago. Mr. Carlisle will be Cleveland's guest over Sunday.
