Meharry Gets $82,211 for Health Study

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A grant of $82,211 has been awarded to Meharry Medical College, for research and research training, by the U. S. Public Health Services, according to an announcement by Meharry's president, Dr. Harold D. West.

The non-Categorical grant made directly to Meharry, may be used at the college's discretion, and is different from other grants which are awarded to individual scientists for scientific research projects.

Dr. West said that of the total grant, $51,778 was awarded to the school of medicine and $30,433 to the school of dentistry. He pointed out that considerable flexibility will be practiced by both schools, in using the funds.
