Full Text

We learn from the Raleigh Register, that Benjamin F. Seaborn, who was convicted of setting fire to the store of Mr. Smith, of that city, in 1832, and executed for the crime, at Fayetteville, on Friday last, made a full confession of his guilt under the gallows. Heretofore he had persisted in declaring his innocence. According to his confession, he had no accomplice.—He had slept in the counting-room, and gained admission to the store by a key which fitted the lock of the intervening door. He took all the money he could find, and then perpetrated the crime for which he suffered, capitally, to conceal the lesser one of robbery.
