$100 Added To Smith Library Fund At Yesterday's Meeting. -Visitors Coming By Air.
The Kiwanians held their weekly meeting Wednesday at 12:10 p.m., at the Union Pacific dining room.
The program was in charge of Jim Down, program chairman of the day. B. B. Tankel, Paul Warner and Dr. O. D. Thomas were guests.
Music was furnished by L. J. Oakes and Paul Warner, the latter playing a violin accompaniment.
Dr. Thomas spoke for 20 minutes, delivering one of his entertaining and characteristic addresses, taking as his subject "Tenancy and Ownership." in which he stressed the desirability of home ownership. He named the three great needs of a community as first, Faith; second Loyalty and third, Courage.
The meeting next week will be in charge of Bob Cantrell as program chairman.
It was announced that Las Vegas Kiwanians will entertain high officials at the meeting of May 13. Kiwanian Governor George Fulmer and Lieutenant Governor Harold Tiernan and others, will come by airplane from Alameda, Cal. The Riverside Kiwanis club will also send a delegation by automobile for a two-day visit.
To make the day complete the club pledged $100 as its contribution to the Ed Smith library fund.
