We hear that the late Representations of our Court concerning the Conduct of the French and Indians in their Interest, on the Borders of our new Colony in America, have been answer'd as follows by the French Ministry:-- That they had already sent Orders to their Subjects and Indian Allies to behave quietly; that they were very well satisfied their Governors and Officers would strictly observe those Orders, but that it was not in their Power to contain the Indians, nor alter their Dispositions towards the Subjects of Nova-Scotia; neither could they hinder the French, that are settled in the Limits of the British Dominion, from quitting their Lands and Habitations, in order to retire into the Territories under the Dominion of his most Christian Majesty.
