The railroad muddle at Little Rock does not seem to clear up much. It is all in a tangle and McClure is trying to get it out by the invaluable writ of habeas corpus. We are informed that a committee is to be sent to Boston to interview the Boston fellows and try to compromise matters, so as to have the road in a condition to move forward as soon as the Oklahoma bill passes. This bill will undoubtedly pass this session of Congress, and a combination can then be effected with the roads now running through the nations west of us. If this plan succeeds, the road must be built at an early day after the bill passes. We hope to see the road put upon a basis that will insure its completion and take it out of the hands of the men who would retard its progress. Our people are now almost entirely without currency and something must soon be done to relieve them, or the machine must stop. We cannot see how the legitimate expenses of the State Government can be paid, unless something turns up to help the people pay their taxes. Many acres of land must go to the State, but the State Treasury must also have ready money. The Auditor's Warrants are at most worthless now, and if the Collectors fail to get in Greenbacks, they will be worse. It is a hard case upon the officials of the State to have to submit to the present discount, especially Judges, who should always be well paid. We hope then our wise men who are running railroad matters and are posted in the 'ways that are queer and tricks that are vain,' may soon bring order out of chaos and give us the railroad.
