Gentlemen: I have not seen any recent notice in the National Intelligencer, of the progress of the Mission to the Osage nation of Indians, under the auspices of the United Foreign Missionary Society of New York. A letter of the 23d of May, from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, to myself, from the Rev. Epaphras Chapman, one of the Superintendants, says:
"We are just about to depart in two boats. Sister Phebe Beach has been sick, but is better. All others of the family are well, and anxious to proceed. The Lord thus far has wonderfully blessed us. Thanks to his holy name—Love to all friends, and all who love the Lord Jesus Christ."
It will be acceptable to the community at large interested in the Mission, and whose pious gifts have promoted the object, to learn of their progressing to the point of their destination on the Arkansas river, and you will oblige, by communicating the information.
Yours, &c.
