BOSTON. April 28.

Extract of a Letter from Crown Point, April 4,

On the 31st of March there was a small party of 9 men across the lake a fishing, who before they could get to their boats, were all taken by a party of French and Indians, without firing a gun on either side; in this small party there was three officers, Capt. Tute of the rangers, Lieut. Fortescue, and Ens. Stewart of the 27th regiment; the private men consisted of 3 rangers and 3 regulars, those savages have killed none of the party. The lake is almost clear of ice, and in a few days we expect the sloops and brig down from Ticonderoga, which will cruise about and watch the enemy's motions.
