The Jury Disagrees as to His Guilt on a Charge of Embezzlement.
Nashville, Tenn., Nov. 13.—The jury in the case of Frank Porterfield, the defaulting cashier of the Commercial National Bank, who has been on trial in the federal court here for the past week, failed to agree, and were discharged this morning. It is understood that the jury stood eight for conviction. Judge Sage, who presided in the case, preferred charges of contempt against Spiral Hill, Porterfield's attorney, and he has been cited to answer.
