Riot.

A great riot has occurred at New Jersey by the workmen at Bergen tunnel, the cause being the non-payment of back wages. This occurred on Saturday last. The cars on the Erie Railroad have been stopped, and the workmen at the tunnel threaten violence should any one attempt to interfere with them, and for this purpose have procured a cannon and loaded it with spikes and other death messengers.

The Rev. Priests have been conveyed to the scene of disorder, but their presence have had no beneficial results.

The New York military and those of New Jersey, have been called out but at latest accounts peace had not been restored.
