Friday.—Charles and Wilhelmina Brunswick indicted for the larceny of seven gallons of whiskey, removed their cases to the Criminal Court of Baltimore city, and gave bail in the sum of $500 for their appearance. The following parties were sentenced to the penitentiary: George Bold, colored, larceny, two months; Charles Durham, colored, larceny, three months; George Hoover, two cases larceny and robbery, five years; Jane Johnson, colored, larceny, two months; John Harkness, larceny, three years; Jacob Adams alias Blood, colored, larceny, two cases, two years; John Nelson, larceny, two months; Isadore Ferrelst and John Norton, burglary and robbery, three years each.
Saturday.—State vs. James Gallagher, indict. for assault with intent to murder; continued to December term. State vs. John McCarty, indict. for murder, continued to December term.
Monday.—State vs. Thompson, alias Norfolk, indicted for stealing a mare, and declared not guilty by a jury on account of insanity. State vs. Patrick Bran, removed to Baltimore city.—State vs. Samuel Dittenger; declared guilty by a jury. State vs. Sheridan, colored, indicted for horse stealing; tried before the Court and adjudged guilty.
Wednesday.—State vs. Mary Ellen Hays, indicted for arson; verdict guilty. The following cases were cited by the State's Attorney:—State vs. Cas Reed, indicted for burglary;—Christian Schruper, two cases of assault; David Sheridan, larceny; Mrs. Morris, keeping a disorderly house; G. Reese, selling liquor without license; Mrs. Beal, same; John McCloskey, same; Maggie Walsh, keeping store and tavern without license; John Hoeltshauer, same; John Grauser, selling liquor without license; Jacob M. Wilhelm, forgery; Earnest Smith, selling liquor without license; Miss Christie, Jos. McGinniter, John L. Schwanziger, same; Joseph Johnson, two cases larceny; Alexander Watkins, larceny. In the following cases a plea of not guilty was confessed by the State's Attorney: Geo. R. Hunt, indicted for keeping a store without license; T. D. Robinson, same charge; T. Brindell, keeping a tavern without license. In a number of the above cases the parties were not found.
