A person was apprehended on Tuesday last on suspicion of counterfeiting money. The necessary implements for coining guineas, half joes, dollars, and quarter of dollars, were found in his possession. He was on the point of proceeding to business, having the metal melted in the crucible, when the officers of justice timely interrupted the process. He has undergone an examination at the police office, before the acting magistrates, who committed him to bridewell to take his trial at the next court of oyer and terminer to be holden in this city in the month of September or October. He is an old offender.
