BLUEFIELD FIREMAN KILLED

Bluefield, W. Va., Feb. 1. —(AP).—

Sam Davidson, a city fireman, was killed here yesterday while fighting a blaze in a small residence. An electric wire had crossed another line carrying 2,200 volts charging the roof of the house, and Davidson was electrocuted when his hand touched the gutter as he tried to get onto the roof.

W. G. Harris, chief of the fire department, said the fireman did not know the roof had been charged with the deadly current. Davidson was the first fireman to be killed in the line of duty in the history of the city.
