John Juheart, born on Staten-Island and a blacksmith by trade, was committed to jail for passing counterfeit dollars. The counterfeit coins are described in detail: 9 dated 1763 and one 1761, struck with a die, edges milled, dirty white color tinged with yellow, slightly lighter than genuine, impression not as high or broad, globes between pillars sunk, edge of unequal thickness with milling not joined in one place, ring well, compound of copper and tin lightly silvered over.
