Full Text

We believe an erroneous impression prevails, abroad, in regard to the health of this place, its neighborhood, and that of Shannondale. The "water-courses," west of the Ridge, may be sickly in some parts, but we can confidently say, not within ten miles of this village. Sickness exists in the vicinity of Battletown, Brucetown, and Winchester; but it has not reached us; and we can assert, without the fear of contradiction, that this village is as free from "autumnal fevers" as any of its size in the United States. The few deaths we have had here, within the last month, were the result of causes which may occur at any time, season, or place. Shannondale is also healthy, and will be found a most agreeable place for valetudinarians as well as for those who already enjoy Heaven's choicest blessing.
