Legislature of Massachusetts.
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
FEB. 20.
The additional Militia Bill, was debated
by sections, in a second reading, and progress
made therein.
FEB. 21.
The Supreme Judicial Court additional bill
passed to be enacted.
The additional Militia Bill, after a lengthy
discussion, passed to be engrossed.
FEB. 24.
An additional Rate Bill passed to be enact-
ed.
A new bill providing for the Public Worship
of God, was received from the Senate, and
read a first and second time.
The Attorney General communicated the
conviction of John Vinal, Esq. of sundry crimes
before the Supreme Judicial Court. Read and
committed.
The Committee on Mr. Vinal's conviction
reported in favour of an impeachment: which
was accepted, and Messrs. Williams, Prescott,
Tillinghast, Porter and Mitchell, directed to
report the articles.
Sixty towns were directed to be fined for ne-
glecting to send Representatives.
