London, Sept. 3.-Consumptives are promised a new recruit in the fight against the disease in the discovery of Dr. Jose Maria Torras, a Spanish medical man.

Torras claims he has discovered a new serum prepared from the blood of chickens, and that it has met with success.

The serum is prepared from a secret process, the hen's blood being strengthened with citrate and chlorate of sodium and calcium phosphate.

Torras believes that the calcium is primarily responsible for the success of the serum, which is injected into the muscular tissue.
