Policemen Fooled.

ATLANTIC CITY. N. J.. Aug. 1.-The post-office here was entered by burglars last night or early this morning, the safe blown open and $1,200 in 2 cent stamps and $200 in cash were stolen therefrom.

Besides the above booty a portion of the registered mail matter was rifled and a small sum extracted from the envelopes which were left lying on the floor.

The burglars gained an entrance through the boiler room and then bored through a partition into the mail office where the safe stood. The postoffice adjoins the City Hall and police headquarters, and this job was consummated within twenty-five feet of the officers on duty.
