LEXINGTON. March 2

As usual, we are under the necessity of
complaining of the neglect in the
post office department, and mention that
on Wednesday, a regular mail has not
reached us since the commencement of the
winter.

Letters dated early in January
came to hand last Sunday from the Federal
city--the Eastern, which ought to have come
the first of February by the Southern
mail.

Indeed for the last four years, during the
winter season, our chief dependence
for information rested upon transient
persons.

There is scarcely a republican print
in the United States who has not been com-
plaining not only of the delays in the re-
mission that their papers have even been sto-
len from some one Post-office. This is a mon-
strous neglect and ought to be noticed.
