It is stated from an authentic source, that the Spanish Minister in Washington has dispatched a cutter to Cadiz, to communicate to the Spanish Regency and Congress, the measures which President Madison has taken for the invasion and occupancy of West-Florida. From the spirit which the Spanish Congress has exhibited on other subjects it is not improbable they will take this invasion of their territory in dudgeon, and will pass acts in retaliation, injurious to the commercial interests of the United States in the territories under their jurisdiction.
