Triple Charge
Frank Mitchell, El Centro, charged with driving while intoxicated, stealing an automobile, and reckless driving, was turned over to the district attorney's force this morning by Judge Perkins in police court for investigation. Mitchell faces the penitentiary if convicted of stealing an automobile and having liquor in his possession.
City officers who made the arrest stated that Mitchell stole a touring car late yesterday afternoon, and while driving out Brighton street, collided with another parked parallel with the sidewalk, turning the stolen car completely over and wrecking it. The other car was badly damaged.
M. Din this morning in police court before Judge Perkins for a car that he now does not own. Friday night Motor Officer Louis Mitchell caught Din making 50 miles an hour in a 25 mile zone. Din also was driving with an open muffler and did not have a registration certificate. Judge Perkins dismissed the last two charges and imposed a fine for speeding.
Saturday night the car was stolen, Din told the court this morning, and he has not recovered it yet.
