Newspapers. Of London Sunday newspapers, not less than 110,000 copies are printed; and the sums paid by the papers to the government, in the way of stamps, duties on the advertisements, and excise duty on the paper, exceed £92,000. The number of persons employed upon the Sunday press is four hundred, without counting the news-venders and those employed by them. There are seven morning newspapers in London: the Times, the Morning Herald, the Morning Chronicle, the Morning Journal, the Morning Post, the Morning Advertiser and the Public Ledger. About 28,000 copies of these papers are printed daily.— The Saturday Literary papers are, the Literary Gazette and the London Weekly Review.
