The Independent Company of Washington Blues took passage in the steamboat, yesterday noon, for Baltimore. In consequence of the ill health of Capt. Baker, General Patterson, the former commander of the company, yielded to the solicitation of officers and men, expressed in an unanimous vote and took command of the Blues, during the present expedition. A most efficient band goes with the company with the General and the gentlemen under his command, all the gratification that they anticipate in the visit to our hospitable neighbors.
