Full Text

The Free Press says that the Independent intimated that that paper opposed woman's suffrage. Nothing of the kind. We never concerned ourselves on that subject. Every paper is free to support or oppose any plan of action or administration of public affairs. We bumped the Free Press for permitting its columns to be used in the publication of such irresponsible articles as the one by Mrs. Ronan, which was an insult to every woman of Nevada.

Nevada's womanhood should be held sacred, as high above all things political as the star of hope above the darkness of the dead, and we still maintain that such articles as the one in question has no place in a self-respecting newspaper.
