May 26. We hear that 1,000,000 l. will be granted for the purposes expressed in the following message from his Majesty, which was presented to the House on Tuesday by Mr. Secretary Pitt:

GEORGE R.

His Majesty relying on the experienced zeal and affection of his faithful Commons, and considering that, in this critical conjuncture, emergencies may arise, which may be of the utmost importance, and be attended with the most pernicious consequences, if proper means should not be immediately applied to prevent or defeat them, is desirous that this House will enable him to defray any extraordinary expenses of the war incurred, or to be incurred for the service of the year 1759, & to take all such measures as may be necessary to disappoint or defeat any enterprizes or designs of his enemies, and as the exigency of affairs may require. G. R.

The Day before the Parliament was Prorogued the following Bill, among several others, was passed, viz. A Bill for granting to His Majesty one Million to be raised by Loans or Exchequer Bills.
