(SPECIAL DISPATCH TO MORNING JOURNAL)
Las Cruces, N. M., March 19.—Charles L. Hill was elected president of the board of regents of the Agricultural college and R. E. Putney of Albuquerque secretary-treasurer at the first meeting of the new board held here today. No change was made in the presidency of the college and will not be until after the next meeting, set for the morning of April 9.
The other three members of the board, J. S. Quesenberry of Dona Ana, M. Y. Monical of Chaves and E. C. Crampton of Colfax were made the board of auditors.
The board of regents spent the meeting today in going over the books and hearing reports from departments of the college, and at the close stated that they were satisfied with the conditions found. Nothing else was done, and no changes made in the existing order of things.
Members of the old board present who swore in the new regents were R. R. Larkin, C. W. Gerber and P. F. McCanna. E. A. Mossman of Albuquerque, registrar, acted as secretary.
After the board meeting the members of the old board went to El Paso by automobile to be present at the Pershing exercises.
