Class of Nine to be Graduated From
Hot Springs High School in June.
From Superintendent R. R. Lewis,
of the Hot Springs public schools, we
learn that the high school will graduate
a class of nine young ladies and gentlemen
this year. The program for
the commencement week will be as follows:
Sunday, May 28th, baccalaureate
sermon; Tuesday, May 30th, Moore-Roberts
oratorical contest; Wednesday,
May 31st, junior banquet; Thursday,
June 1st, commencement.
It is a matter of commendation, we
are sure, that the class orations are to
be eliminated this year, for be they ever
so good, nine lengthy orations would
become tiresome. Instead Prof. Bates,
of the South Dakota State college at
Brookings, has been secured to deliver
the commencement address. The subject
of his talk will be "Mark Twain
and the value of humor."
The members of the class who will
graduate are as follows: Elizabeth
Dudley, James Dolliver, Alta Boyles,
Jay Crane, Freda Sanson, Raymond
Gillespie, Evelyn Tillotson, John Mueller
and Paul Dennis.
