Misses Nettie Brenno and Jeannetta Albertson came up from Decorah for an over Sunday visit with friends and relatives.

Sunday school next Sunday morning at the M. E. church. Epworth League 6:45, Preaching at 7:30.

Mrs. George Westby returned from Decorah last week after a short visit there with relatives.

Friends of Charlotte Hovey gave her a parcel shower Sunday evening.

Word was received from Blooming Prairie, Minn., Wednesday announcing the arrival of a baby boy to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bolmgren. Mrs. Bolmgren was formerly Alice Fjelstul. Congratulations.

The W. F. M. S. of the German M. E. church met with Mrs. Ed Wiedeman Thursday afternoon.

Rev. Klaus of Charles City came Saturday to preach at the German M. E. church Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Steen Johnson returned from Decorah where they had been for a few days.

Mrs. Putnam and Mrs. Libbey were at Cresco Tuesday to hear Bishop Lewis speak.

Mrs. Jim Soukup departed Thursday for a visit to Charles City with relatives.

Hattie Morton spent the week end with home folks.

Earl Kirschman who has been teaching school near Decorah, returned home Saturday noon.

Lewie Guttormson of St. Paul was here a couple of days this week visiting his folks.

Mrs. Walter Paley of New Hampton, spent a couple of days last week with relatives and friends.

Mrs. Henry Anderson was at Cresco Saturday.

On Wednesday afternoon, at four o'clock, at the bride's home, Miss Charlotte Hovey and Andrew Scott were united in marriage. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hovey of Orleans twp.

Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Ellingson gave them a surprise last Wednesday evening at the Halvor Skadeland home. A large crowd attended and left them a nice sum of money.

N. Schuetz went to New Hampton Wednesday on business.

HOWARD CENTER

Bessie Stokes spent a few days last week in Cresco.

A number of friends gathered at the C. Bock home Thursday evening in honor of Mr. Bock's birthday. The evening was spent in dancing.

Mary Dotzler is visiting her sister, Mrs. Fred Leffler, this week.

Ray Long assisted P. Schneider to move Monday.

Jas. Smith was a Cresco caller last week.

Polly Truman and Clifton Stokes visited at the R. Long home Thursday.

Fred Hoppie spent Sunday with home folks.

R. Jones was a Cresco caller last week.

Frank Pecoy will move on the farm vacated by Johnnie Dyer.

Mr. and Mrs. George Hoppie entertained friends Sunday evening.

Jas. Smith was a Cresco caller last week.

James Shields and daughters Lucy and Frances were Cresco callers on Sunday.

Frank Smith is moving on the farm John Reynolds vacated.

Ray Ritter has purchased the A. Schneider farm so will continue to be our neighbor.

W. Offen was a Cresco caller Monday.

John Long assisted R. Jones with work Monday.

Mrs. Frank Smith called at the R. Long home Monday.

Miss Reihl is visiting Mrs. Jones a few days this week.

Ray Long was a Cresco caller on Wednesday.
