We have a very fine Saw Mill here, which began to cut three Days ago: At Ticonderoga they are very busy in repairing that Fort : At Crown-Point, where the General and most of the Army are, they are building a very large Fort.---Capt. Loring is building a Brig at Ticonderoga of 200 Tons that will carry 20 Cannon.--- About 4 Days ago, as two Officers, Servants of the 55th Regiment, were over on the East Side of the Lake gathering some Greens, they were captivated by a Number of Men, chiefly Indians: Capt. Tout, of the Rangers, was then out with a Scout of 50 Men. designed for St. John's, and happened luckily to land where the Enemy had left their Canoe, and ambushed in order to catch them upon their Return, which he in some degree effected; for they shot one of the Indians that was foremost dead upon the Spot, as he was leading one of the 6 Prisoners, the man escap'd and got up to Capt. Tout ; the other the Enemy carried off.------ Every Thing goes on so well, that I am in hopes of seeing Quebeck in our Possession before we go into Winter-Quarters.---
