The next day the Indians went off, when these Men came down, and the Mate swam aboard ; he then made a Raft for the others to come on board also ; soon after which they got some Powder and Shot, and loaded two Swivels, to be in Readiness lest they should be again attacked.
The Morning after the Wind coming fair, they were preparing to quit the Harbour, and had weigh'd one Anchor, but before they weigh'd the other, there appear'd 7 Shallops in Sight, and 7 Canoes before them ; they came so near as to fire Small Arms on board the Schooner ; but on the Mate's firing a Swivel, which unluckily Set a Barrel of Powder on Fire and burnt him very much; and the Indians hearing such a Noise, and seeing so much Fire, went off. The Schooner belong'd to Caco-Bay, but we have not heard the Captain's Name, -- Capt. Wells meeting a Vessel bound to Caco-Bay, put the Men on board, where they are arriv'd.
