ATTACKED ON HIS OWN PORCH
Former Lieut.-Gov. O'Meara, of Missouri, Murderously Attacked by Unknown Assailant.

St. Louis, Sept. 19.—John B. O'Meara, former lieutenant-governor of Missouri and present secretary of the Hill-O'Meara Construction Co., was held up while sitting on the porch of his home at 4429 Washington boulevard about eight o'clock last night.

Mr. O'Meara grappled with the would-be robber, and in the struggle which ensued was badly slashed across the cheek with a knife, his assailant making his escape.
