TENTH OF SEPTEMBER.
The Democratic Press notices the day in the following neat and pathetic manner:
"This day, Sept. 10, is the anniversary of the battle of Lake Erie. A great and glorious victory, was the first fruit of our gallant and embattled navy. The youthful hero whose personal prowess, skill and conduct eminently contributed to that day's victory, 'it hath pleased the Almighty to consign to an early grave.' Green be the sod which covers it: imperishable be the laurels of its occupant. Honoured be the name of PERRY!"
