Full Text

Lodger.—A youth about 14 or 15 years of age, applied for lodging last night averring that he had nowhere to sleep and that his father had refused to do anything for him. He was kindly cared for until this morning, when he was brought before the Mayor. His father must be a heartless white man to allow him to traverse our streets in the condition he is in; and it is to be hoped that some one will take him in charge, and he may in the course of time prove a useful man. His sad condition elicited the sympathies of all present.
