Full Text

Westfield, Feb. 18—After housing apparatus costing thousands of dollars and new fire hose in a shed for a number of years the fire department will now under the $18,000 appropriation be able to erect an addition to the Arnold-street station that will be fireproof and dry and will insure preservation of the apparatus.

In addition, it is expected that a strip of land to the west about 15 feet in width can be purchased, the wall moved over and the tower that now takes up valuable floor space eliminated. This plan will give the city a central fire station that will serve all needs for years to come.
