A man of middling stature with black curled hair, wearing a fine blue broad-cloth coat, new buff breeches, striped waistcoat, stone sleeve buttons, and fine holland shirt, found dead about four rods from the road leading from Great-Barrington, a mile from Col. Elijah Williams's Iron-Works. Body eight rods from clothes, eaten by vermin, appeared in good circumstances. Unknown identity and murderer. Deacon Brown of Stockbridge saw him lately with money and an Old England man who left shortly before; the latter, matching description, now in Simsbury, CT, inquired about a dead man near Deacon Brown's before the body was found.
