WILL REORGANIZE 142ND REGIMENT

FORMER OVERSEAS FIGHTERS ARE ASKED TO BECOME MEMBERS.

Adjutant General Thom, D. Harton and Co. C. W. Ninon will arrive in Amarillo this afternoon for the purpose of inspecting this section with the idea of organizing in the Panhandle the 132 Regiment of the Thirty-Sixth Division of the Texas National Guard.

These two officers will be in Amarillo on Monday and will endeavor to organize a machine gun troop and an infantry company here. Col. E. O. Thompson, Maj. W. H. Brownell and Major S. D. Ridings are the Amarillo men who have accepted commissions in the new organization.

It is expected that the two companies will be recruited here with very little difficulty. Every member of the Thirty-Sixth Division is urged to join. The annual encampments of the National Guard will in a way serve a dual purpose one of which will be as a reunion of the boys who fought overseas. It is expected that at each annual encampment many Germans will be killed and captured and that many battles will be fought over again.
